Who Are We?

The New Marketing Students Association (NMSA) at York University is an undergraduate student club which aims to be the most valuable resource for students interested in the Marketing industry through the collaboration of our members, the University’s Career Development office, and other entities (recruiters, faculty, alumni, and speakers).

We are currently experiencing an economic period in which the responsibilities required from students surpass their capabilities in the professional environment once they have graduated from College or University. Furthermore, previous experience is required in their desired career field as well as a slew of academic accomplishments which may seem unattainable at times.

Vision and Mission 2

The NMSA’s mission is to help educate students on the various aspects of the Marketing industry, ease the transition between academic and professional activities as well as help connect our members with industry professionals and alumni through our industry events, workshops and social events.

Complementary to our “business as usual” events, we are also looking to connect with other marketing clubs and/or associations throughout the GTA in the hope of growing our association as well as our partners’ in terms of awareness, recognition as premier institutions for students and primarily to build a network of future marketing professionals.

Previously, the NMSA has hosted the following events, some with collaboration with other associations, which have benefited students in many different ways:

  • Marketing Intern Panel, ft. Scotiabank, IBM and ADP
  • #MktStudentsTO, in collaboration with RMA, RCMA and UTSC
  • AD Day @ York University, hosted by Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec
  • NMSA’s Resume Building Workshop
  • Insight Into Advertising, ft. OPEN’s President, Christian Mathieu
  • York U’s Career Centre Marketing Info Session
  • NMSA’s First Annual Case Competition, in partnership with Toys ‘R’ Us
  • NMSA’s Alumni Networking Night, ft. Rouge Media Group, Marketwired, Invasix, Campbell’s, The National Squash Academy, and BrandSpark International
